MEET BELLA
Bella began playing Volleyball when she was 13 years old. She had low self esteem, had been bullied at school and her mom told her that maybe playing a sport might help. She didn't want to because she wasn't sure she could be good at anything. Then after one year of playing she was thanking her mom, and absolutely loved it. Bella had found a place where she could grow as a person and somewhere that could stretch her view of herself. Every year she improved exponentially; she worked hard to get on the best teams and win championships. During Bella’s junior year in high school her team won state. This completely flipped her mindset, and when her mother asked her what her dream was, she responded, without hesitation, that she wanted to play in college. Bella lives to be on the court, loves working with other people, loves being coached, and most of all loves being a part of something bigger than herself.
Fast forward to fall 2023 when Bella walked into AZ Storm Elite led by Terri Spann. She knew it would be tough competition. To be honest Bella didn't know how good she was until she laid it all on the line. After 2 hours of tryouts Bella was calling her mom to tell her the big news: she had made it! Her mother came into the gym and told her how proud she was. This was Bella’s first big step in the right direction. See, Bella is a dreamer, much like her mom. Her mother raised her and her two sisters where she always pushed the glass ceiling. She has succeeded in arenas that most women would not even enter into. Because of her parents divorce, her mother and sisters lost everything when Bella was a little girl. Bella watched her mom with God's help build back everything they had and more than was thought possible. Bella is someone that looks directly in the face of adversity and rises to the occasion. It is how she is uniquely built.
"Be Strong and Courageous” is the verse quote she holds on to. She’s here to be a team player, a leader, a woman of worth, and a woman who continues to grow. There is no doubt she absolutely loves this game and is an amazing addition to any team. Reaching #4 this year in digs for her state, being amongst such great players has been nothing less than a blessing. Bella looks forward to succeeding both on and off the court.
